About
A successful photograph does more than merely capture a father's presence—it conveys a sense of his closeness. It records not just shared presence, but the depth of the father-child bond: in a natural gesture of support, in a look expressing care and attention, in the effortless harmony with which two people coexist in the same space—even without words.
Whether it’s a spontaneous documentary-style shot or a carefully composed studio portrait, what matters most is that the frame leaves room for genuine emotion. Even in a staged image, truth must be preserved—not a perfect pose, but a real connection. The photograph must breathe, regardless of location, lighting, or technical choices. Because what truly matters isn’t the setting, but what unfolds between the two people in front of the lens.
Accepted:
- Photographs capturing the interaction between a father (or father figure—guardian, grandfather, etc.) and a child under 18 years of age
- Images may include either a single child or multiple children
- The central focus of the photograph must be the interaction between father and child
- Both documentary and artistically staged photographs are welcome, provided the primary emphasis is on emotional connection: care, support, play, teaching, shared time, or intergenerational continuity
- Images taken in any setting—indoors, outdoors, while traveling, in nature, or in the city—as long as they convey the authenticity of the moment
Not accepted:
- Photographs featuring a child older than 18 years
- Images where the father and child are not interacting with each other, or where one of them is outside the frame, obscured in shadow, or deliberately blurred without clear artistic intent
